Raised and educated in rural Maine, Leah has had a lifelong interest in how we can better work and live together in healthy families, sustainable communities and effective collaborations. These concerns led her in 1998 to co-found and become a facilitator to a community council called Circle Voice. This ongoing community council has organized several peaceful gatherings for the purpose of bringing together spiritual leaders from a variety of traditions to share their teachings and perspectives. For the past ten years Circle Voice has organized a well-attended annual Winter Solstice event for the purpose of bringing people from all traditions together to celebrate the turn of the season. Being a member of the vibrant Circle Voice community and making decisions by consensus has given Leah living experience of how we navigate the ebbs and flows of community life. It is Leah’s heartfelt belief that it is both healthy and desirable for people to have and express differing ideas and viewpoints, and it is her passion to assist people in honoring conflict in a way that allows it to transform into healthy connection. Leah also continues to write, record and perform her original music under the stage name of Leah Wolfsong. |
